To avoid being rejected, where formal, conceptual ideas and diffe- rent ways of interpreting the machine-man relationship should prevail, we have had to evolve the service learning to design with very restrictive conditions from different points of view. Furthermore there are quite a few other determinants that have made our work very tightened to give a worthy exit to the creative part of pure design such as the costs, the low series, the limited availability of the suppliers of fairings to offer complex solutions, the modularity needs, the cost limitations ... the shortcoming of the starting designs executed with little evolved concepts and not holistically thought, the need to modify them from their basis to achieve ergonomic improvements, to gain in costs and mainte- nance. We are forced to provide much more value than usual for a design consultancy like ours, in the constructive and detail-defi- ning part, getting closer to an engineering service, so that image concepts, although simple, can be valued, manufactured and inte- grated into the product and in the company. Principles such as integration, order, simplicity, cleanness, modu- larity, exquisite care of details, looking for new constructive forms, alternative materials with new and better properties and costs, thinking about each piece as if it was a design project itself... are the parameters we can play with, far from formal adventures like those usually seen in industrial fairs. We seek quality in a compul- sive way. We are able to invest hours in solving a detail, a need for integration, which in a conventional way would be solved in five minutes. Unfortunately, the developments carried out with a special effort for these events, are diluted in many cases for different reasons day by day.
