Dian The company with the largest number of ecolabels for work footwear, in the European Community Dian has recently been granted new ecolabels for its footwear models, and today, it offers clients a large number of leather and microfiber shoes for healthcare staff, in addition to EVA clogs for medical staff and surgery professionals. Consistent with expectations, by the end of this year there will be many more models holding this certificate and the company works to expand this range, so that soon half of their products will be certified with ecolabels. It is important to point out that in addition to guaranteeing environmentally friendly properties, ecolabels also mean footwear is more durable. In spite of the difficulties these times present, Dian continues to be one of the leading companies and is always launching new products, consistent with the company’s environmental-care policies involving the use of water-based adhesives for almost all models, seeking to reduce toxicity and emissions. Facing the crisis with innovation and good prices A good portion of the world’s manufacturing sector is now facing the challenge of having to produce with materials that have become much more expensive, while greater costs, cannot possibly be correspondingly reflected in prices, for consumers are very cautious today. In view of such difficulties, Dian has not chosen to lay still and wait, but will rather continue to invest in R+D, to launch products with an added value. This, in the knowledge of applying this philosophy to the benefit of end users, who are more aware of the importance of good footwear as an ally, improving performance and comfort. Consumers are better informed and know more about technologies and improvements. This is the way markets evolve and the future points to the need of making products consumers will recognize and value for their money. Distributors are also very much aware of this and will appreciate companies that bring new, differentiated products, consistent with what markets are now demanding. Dian launches new products but also improves those already existing, in terms of production and design. Among the novelties, we find that models are now more breathable, and will better resist water penetration. On the other hand, the company’s designs now allow for the use of customized sole pads for those suffering foot problems. In general, products may all be washed regularly, at 40°C, without suffering any damage. And as they are made from a single piece of material, they have no seams and will always be well ventilated. All distributors know that Dian has improved classic products, and that new ones launched do not mean prices have increased. And that even some models are now available at lower prices as production has been optimized by reducing handling costs. Dian is now developing new models to expand product ranges, and novelties will be shown at SICUR 2012. Updated products /41
