First France, then Sweden, now Petzl is pleased to invite specialists in vertical access techniques to the third edition of Petzl RopeTrip, this time in Salt Lake City, Utah, April 1-4, 2016. The goal of this uni- que event is to bring together the global rope access community for an exciting, fun, com- petitive, and educational event for professio- nals. Extended program for the 2016 edition Besides the competition of rope access by teams, which always forms the centerpiece of the event, registrants will have the oppor- tunity to participate in the first internatio- nal symposium of rope access including: theoretical presentations, practical demonstrations, and a tradeshow with some of the leading rope access companies. Beyond the competitors, this gathering is aimed at all the players in the rope access profession. In addition, Petzl Rope Trip 2016 coincides with the annual SPRAT (Society of Profes- sional Rope Access Technicians) conferen- ce, which runs from March 30 through April 1. This timing allows to optimize the trip to Salt Lake City and participate in both events. The qualifying round of the Petzl RopeTrip Rope Access Challenge will be held in the new Petzl America facility. The semi-finals and finals will be held in a unique Salt Lake City venue, to be announ- ced. The provisional Program of the Petzl Rope- Trip 2016 contemplates: -Thursday, March 31. Welcome: Dinner and reception at Petzl America. -Friday, April 1. Briefing, equipment inspec- tion, and technical verification. Annual SPRAT conference – Presentation day (optional) -Saturday, April 2. First qualification stage for the Rope Access Challenge Speed Climb Challenge -Sunday, April 3. Second qualification stage for the Rope Access Challenge. Symposium: theoretical presentations and practical workshops. Rope access trade show. Semi- finals. Finals. Rope access trade show Pre-registrations Space for the Rope Access Challenge and the Symposium is limited. Therefo- re, organizers recommend doing a pre- register as early as possible by sending an email to petzlropetrip@petzl.com Along with the identity data, regis- trants will have to indicate the events in which they have decided to take part: -Rope Access Challenge -Symposium -Rope Access Challenge and Symposium Regarding the Rope Access Challenge, it will also be necessary to point out whether the registration corresponds to a complete team comprised of three rope-access technicians (providing the name), or if it is a sign as an indivi- dual, in which case, those involved will be grouped in teams in situ.
