NEWS PPE: MATERIALS, MACHINERY AND TECHNIQUES FOR THEIR PRODUCTION 104 SUNGRAZER, TEJIDO MULTIFUNCIONAL DE PROTECCION Tejido exclusivo que combina propiedades ignífugas y antiestáticas. SUNGRAZER, MULTIFUNCTIONAL FABRIC FOR PROTECTION Exclusive fabric that combines fireproof and antistatic properties. Its development is innovative since it incorporates the first use of PPS fibre (Polyphenylene Sulfide) in the textile clothing for personal protective equipment. It uses Fortron PPS® an inherently flame retardant fiber and resistant to chemicals in high temperature conditions, combined with cotton treated with Proban® flame retardant. It offers antistatic, flame retardant and heat protection according to EN standards in a single fabric. It performs as the ideal combination of protection, extended durability and comfort. Available in four different colors, it is designed to withstand frequent industrial washing. The main features of the product include: weight of 260g/m2, 59% cotton blend, 40.5% Fortron® PPS and 0.5% antistatic carbon, Finishing Proban® Flame Retardant Finish, 2 x 2 twill structure; usable width 150 cm. The advantages and applications include: -Good tensile and tear strength and resistance to shrinkage. -The 40% of Fortron® PPS content helps to improve the touch and appearance of the fabric after washing. This makes for greater flexibility and softness and less smearing. -In mixed products, Fortron PPS® allows optimizing the effect of cotton component flame retardant treated, that is up to 60% in Sungrazer. -The carbon fibre structured in the fabric provides antistatic function. -With a higher content of cotton than cotton / modacrylic products, Sungrazer is designed to maximize the advantages of inherent fire retardant properties and the high melting point of the thermoplastic fibre. -The balanced fusion of PPS® Fortron and Proban® cotton produces a less carbonized and brittle structure than the cotton or blends of cotton / modacrylic.
