PPE: MATERIALS, MACHINERY AND TECHNIQUES FOR THEIR PRODUCTION PPE – Allrounders: Lauffenmühle Ultimate Lea Multi+ 310 & Lea Multi 365 The Ultimate fabric Lea Multi+ 310 of Lauffenmühle with 310g/m2 and a blend of 55/41/4% PPAN/CO/CF covers a multitude of risks when working in dangerous surroundings demanding multifunctional protection. Beside its reliable protection from heat and flames, for use in welding and allied processes, of thermal hazards of an electric arc and it’s electrostatic properties it offers also the option of being delivered in hi-vis and fit up to protect against liquid chemicals. The same type of protection is offered by the innovative Lea Multi 365, with its 365 g/m2 a typical fabric for heavy welding works, which comes in a panama weave: an excellent fabric for fashionable ppe-garments. Meeting all relevant current European standards for optimal workplace safety the innovative Ultimate Lea Multi fabrics are suitable for leasing operations and certified according to Oeko-Tex® Standard 100. High-Visibility, Antistatic Properties and Wearing Comfort: No Polarity at all Just right in time to be presented during Expoprotection 2012 in Paris, Lauffenmühle developed the new Warntec Plus with 270 g/m2 in Cotton Rich (49/49/2 CO/PES/CF) which offers antistatic properties, certified according to EN 1149-5 additionally to Hi-Vis colour orange meeting DIN EN 471. As all Lauffenmühle fabrics, Warntec Plus is suitable for leasing business. The new Hi-Vis fabric called Warntec DL with a total blend of 55/45% PES/CO offers 100% cotton on the skinny side of the fabric: a tremendously high wearer comfort is garantueed. The polyester on the outer side of the fabric makes it suitable for leasing business. Constructed as a double-layer with a total weight of 360 g/m2 it offers a very good sandwich-type isolation, which optionally can even be improved by a special raising (finish E 26). Of course Warntec DL 360 does meet euronorm EN 471 and Ökotex Standard 100. Another new Hi-Vis fabric, Warntec NC in 270 g/m2 with a blend of 73/27% PES/CLY in a satin weave offers an excellent wearer comfort, which does even improve after several washes and which is combined with a very pleasant touch due to the allotment of Tencel-fibre; all three colours red, yellow and orange do of course meet EN 471. Fabrics to meet DIN 10524 / HACCP for Hygiene in Food Business Aim of the DIN 10524 is the avoidance of negative effects on food articles which can be caused by unsuitable workwear. To comply with all the guidelines of HACCP, Lauffenmühle offers the article Gneis, with 215 g/m2 and the blend of 65/35% PES/CO. It is, as all Lauffenmühle fabrics, suitable for leasing business. New Fabric for the Special Demand of Vector Protection Protection against vectors, defined as “disease transmitting animals”, is very important when working outdoor in specific regions. The fabric Vector, 150 g/m2 in a blend of 95/5% CO/PES, developed by Lauffenmühle, protects against vectors and also against ticks (in the temperate zones of Europe for example, ticks can transmit Lyme borreliosis with one single bite). The new Lauffenmühle fabric meets Technical Supply Specifications TL 8305-0331 (BWB, for NATO army use), which means that the textile fabric which has been given the vector protection treatment and the textile garments made from it must be permanently effective against all blood-sucking arthropods (vectors).
