1erTrimestre12 | PROTECCIÓN LABORAL 70 Trade reports Dragon Gloves, new image for a new era The Dragon Gloves line, which has over a decade at the technological forefront of hand protection in the workplace, takes Sicur 2012 to present publicly its new brand image, whose most obvious feature is the new logo. The image changes, but remains, as is already a tradition, the essence of the product, prized for its quality and performance as well as the expertise and breadth of the range. Born in 1999 in the core of the firm Tomás Bodero S. A., Dragon Gloves distin- guishes itself by its dazzling commercial penetration in the protection market, a fact that has been instrumental in the company’s decision to turn it into an independent mark. In this regard, the marketing department of the mother- brand states that “the full age of Dragon Gloves encouraged us to present it in the market with its own brand image, since having become a product with a large intrinsic entity need not endorsement or the corporate mentoring of Tomás Bodero”. The beginning of this autonomous stage of Dragon Gloves is reflected in the new logo, which loses the added “by Thomas Bodero” who had accompanied it since it was designed. The new logo exploits the semantic strength of the red, black and white, achieving a greater visual impact, consistent with the prominent profile of the brand. The vibrant look of the logo has been obtained by framing it into a vignette and using the black color for the letters ‘Dragon’. The icon of the dragon has also been removed, while retaining the flare (two ‘tongues’ of fire in the first design), which have been relocated, as a single flame, on the center of the word ‘Dragon’ to break with its bright red chro- matic the prevailing hue of black tonality. Modern and attractive, this new brand image also corresponds to a new era in which prevails the emphasis on product design. Introduction of the Dragon Gloves 2012 catalogue In Sicur, Dragon Gloves shows his exhaus- tive catalogue of advanced solutions. The manufacturer advertises them as “claw appealing gloves”, a distinguishing feature over other similar products available in the worldwide marketplace of gloves. The Dragon Gloves range covers almost all risks faced by Police forces and Fire-fight- ers: cut protection and puncture, daily use / patrol, riot / tactical, motor-biker gloves (to police); intervention, extrication (for fire-fighters); and gloves for special opera- tions, among others. The collection also includes the hunting-fishing ranges. Innovative technology and the use of state- of-the-art materials characterize the prod- ucts exposed by Dragon Gloves in Sicur 2012. The product information is avail- able on the web (www.dragongloves.com), in a brand-specific blog (www.guantes- dragon.com) and in the social networks Facebook and Twitter. This year, unprecedented in its history, the company Tomás Bodero will attend Sicur with 3 stands: that of Tomás Bodero (6B01), the one of Showa Best Glove (4B21, as a section of high-tech synthetic materials), and the one of Dragon Gloves (10G04, as a section specializing in securi- ty forces). 105
