Barcelona), a company with a prolific research tradition in textile fibres and the development of protection fabrics against cold, heat and acids, has incorporated its model Astana (reference 1600 AA) to the Kentlan cold protection range. It is a ther- mal overall for static activity in thermal conditions of severe cold, which is avail- able in the S-XXL sizes segment and the col- ors navy blue and white. Astana is a high performance product for activities in which the worker or athlete has to carry out their work in extreme cold weather conditions. Its level of perspira- tion is sufficient and allows jobs requiring little physical activity. Its thermal and anti- humidity performances are one of the best currently available on the market for gar- ments in contact with skin. The thermal conductivity of the Kentlan garment relative to the air is 6.0, the low- est in the market, and the exterior mois- ture absorption of 0.05%, almost zero, keeping dry the skin and the garment, while sweat is thrown away to the outside and the body is isolated and protected from the cold. This range is characterized by its ergonom- ic design, skin-tight, made with flat seams and designed to optimize worker comfort, so the article makes easy any movement at work or sport activities. Astana’s range is characterized also by its "Dry Heat" tech- nology, with anti-bacterial and anti-aller- gic properties. The Astana thermal manikin, subjected to rigorous thermal testing (Report No. 2009AN2020), offered, among others, the following results (for full information see attached table): -Chamber temperature: 10.2 ± 0.1° C. -Manikin Temperature: 35o C. -Air Relative humidity: 63% ± 1%. -Air speed: 0.3 - 0.5 m / s. Thermal resistance of the naked manikin (Ia,r): 0,084 m2 · K/W. The Kentlan range of cold protection fibres are distinguished by their high technical performance in terms of thermal insula- tion of the air, which makes them ideal to insulate body heat from the outside cold. Furthermore, moisture absorption is 10 times lower than that of polyester, materi- al which distinguishes itself by its low moisture absorption. However there are some other thermal resistance coefficient units, such as clo, there is a relationship between them, being 1 clo → 0,155 m2 · K/W). 27
