Petzl Vertex and Alveo, a range of protective helmets for working in heights As there are no European standards for hel- mets designed for working in heights, Petzl based its work on two existing regulations for helmets adapted to the needs of people in this field of activity: -Industrial work helmets standard (EN 397) -Shock-proof protective helmets for moun- taineering, standard EN 12492 Above all, we need to remember that when- ever working in heights, it is advisable to wear helmets with resistant chin straps, to reduce the risk of the protective helmet falling off if the user falls. The new range of Vertex and Alveo helmets in versions Best and Vent come with a 50 daN opening chin strap, complying with EN 12492 require- ments. And the shock-proof structure of the helmets complies with EN 397. Ventilated helmet bodies are much more comfortable but offer no protection against electrical hazards or molten metal splash. So, against such hazards, the helmet structure should not be ventilated. The Vertex range comes with a fabric head harness, with six adjustment points, that will adapt to the shape of the head, and feels very comfortable. Alveo, on the other hand, comes with an expanded polystyrene pad that makes the helmet much lighter. Both ranges also come with Center-Fit sys- tem that makes the helmet fit perfectly, by simply activating the two adjusting wheels at the same time (even when wearing gloves). The helmets are designed for easy, immediate attachment of eye or ear protec- tion elements, as well as for the use of the new Pixa range flashlight. Helmets are CE certified, in compliance with En 397 and EN 12492 standards (shock protection) and EN 50365 and EN 397 (electrical insulation). They also comply with EN 397 standards for protection against molten metal, side defor- mation and use at low temperatures. Avail- able in white, red, black, yellow, orange and blue (depending on the model). PARA MÁS INFORMACIÓN, CONTACTE CON: comercial@prensa-tecnica.com
