4oTrimestre10 | PROTECCIÓN LABORAL 65 Protection solutions Gaes hearing protection for an effective communication in industrial environments Gaes has developed a special hearing aid to be attached to the hearing protector for people working in noisy environments who need to be able to communicate. It has got a flexible wire and audio connec- tion with the radio receiver (3.5 mm jack), as well as acoustic filters. To better meet the needs of specific work- places, Gaes developed adapted hearing protectors customizing them to whatever workers in the petrochemical sector need (engineers, workers, firefighters), as this is a sector where everyone needs to wear and use PPE adapted to the hazards posed by potentially explosive atmosphe- res (ATEX). The communications systems include hearing devices that will abate noise while enhancing the sound of voices. With hearing protectors adapted to the hearing aids, technically marked as ATEX. Molds for pilot’s communication systems Racing pilots need hearing protection devices that will adapt to their communi- cations systems. Gaes has developed hea- ring aids for effective connection among team members. Gaes has also developed hearing protec- tion molds adapted to communications systems used by airline pilots and airport staff and crewmembers. Special adaptations for the musicians They are designed to offer individual pro- tection meeting the special needs of musi- cians who use electronic instruments. Allow for the use of In-EAR protectors, made from soft silicon, for listening to music in any environments, with 3.5 mm. jack connec- tor, also suitable for live concerts and rehe- arsals. For singers and orchestra members, the company designed micro-monitors that screen the acoustics inside the ear, on a wide frequency range. They permit monito- ring instruments and the mixing of sounds at moderate volumes and levels, excluding noise and with up to 25 dB abatement for outside sound sources. 111
