LUCHA CONTRA EL FUEGO | 2o Trimestre10 It is a three-axle truck weighing 26,000 Kg. with a cabin 9.5 m long and 2.5 wide. The inside is divided into two storeys, with the first one divided in turn into four rooms. The second storey has screen modules for reproducing various settings. All in all, both modules are 12 mt. long and 5 mt. wide, with a height of 6.20 mt, all making up a total area extending over 60 sq.mt. The unit is accessed through two doors, on opposite sides of the unit, in addition to a smaller opening and a tunnel or roof hatch that allows for simulation of intervention types. So the technical development and equipment have been conceived, in order to simulate a larger number of emergency situations so the unit may be used for training in several disciplines like: • Firefighting - Use of extinguishers, firefighting fixtures and water lines - Use of low, medium and high-expansion foam - Firefighting in confined spaces, tracking and rescuing victims - Use of self-contained breathing apparatus - Ventilation of closed spaces • Work in heights - Use of tripods, id, descending devices and climbing devices - Harnesses, ropes and lifelines, safety - rescue work in heights • Confined spaces - Contaminated environments. Measuring devices - Use of personal protective equipment. Self-contained breathing and escape apparatus - Rescue work in confined spaces • Chemical spills - Use of personal protective equipment.
