Such improvements are then applied to all models and materials, from the elastic leather gloves to the new-generation seamless gloves. Compliance with safety and comfort requirements are accredited through laboratory tests: all Uro gloves meet European EN standards. Mafepe has always been focusing on evolution, as a manufactur- er and designer. A few years ago, not all workers would wear gloves and even if they did, the equipment chosen would not always be suitable. Also, some sectors that did not believe gloves were necessary, like services or agriculture for instance, today reveal high demand levels. Therefore, Mafepe is working with experts in various sectors to develop gloves made with seamless fabrics admitting various manufacturing options (immersion, dripping, gluing, injection, sewing, Vulcanizing, micro-bubbles...). They place emphasis in ergonomics, a major factor. Mafepe prides itself in “Our virtual 100% effectiveness for all haz- ards and activities, so that we know for a fact that full protection is available if only workers are willing to wear gloves, and then, the ones suitable for their task. In this sense we wish to underline the relevance of choosing well, for the highest levels certified by tests will not always guarantee the right sort of protection. We are committed to helping consumers choose, and always encourage them to contact us with their queries and doubts”. - Aneto, workwear and protective clothing Mafepe applies the same concepts to protective clothing as it does to protection gloves (hazard analysis, most suitable fabrics, most functional design for maximum performance and protection). All of this is, of course, certified and documented, with the corre- sponding laboratory tests to which products are subjected, regard- ing weight, composition, resistance to washing and spills, all other aspects regarding sewing procedures for standard and techni- cal fabrics, for instance. The company’s slogan “Working towards a better future”, summarizes their philosophy. They point out, “For the past 40 years, we have been working towards this goal, the result of a call for excellence in search of useful solutions in terms of equipment and protection. We created Uro®, specialized brand in protection gloves, and Aneto®, our workwear brandname”. Mafepe’s present involves their commitment to ongoing improve- ment. Their goal, they say, is “To adjust to users’ needs, with a focus on quality, details, finishes, with strict conceptual and func- tional principles, to materialize the most innovating solutions based on our goal of making everything within our reach to build a better future”.
