Showa has three manufacturing factories: one in Himeji, Japan; another in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, and a third one in Perlis, Malaysia. Showa manufactures over 190 different gloves models, marketed around the world and meeting protection requirements in all activity fields. The choice by Tomás Bodero: Strength, ergonomics and extreme protection Tomás Bodero’s client portfolio covers all activity fields. The com- pany is known as a leader in the design of hand-protection solu- tions that do not only take into account safety and protection but also maximum financial performance of investment in PPE on the part of clients. By studying the situation of some of their clients Tomás Bodero found that some gloves manufactured by other companies had problems in terms of fit and comfort. In such cases, the distributors working for this firm located in Burgos, rec- ommended Showa 310 due to major reasons: firstly, its strength and resistance (a pair of gloves per worker per week in some industrial sectors means reasonable consumption rates); in the second place, ergonomics, for as these gloves fit perfectly and feel comfortable workers will wear them willingly during their day at work. And the third reason is the high levels of protection offered to workers. Even though Showa 310 is more expensive than aver- age PPE gloves, this fact is compensated by longer durability. With 310, medium-size companies in the metal works sector (250 work- ers) can save some 2,500 Euros every year, only in gloves as com- pared to products they had been using in the past. And regarding accidents and injuries to the hands, the frequency rates are radically reduced when workers wear Showa gloves. “It is obvious that accident rates are reduced when our clients’ workers wear Showa 310. This means that workers wearing our gloves can feel safer, and as the 310 is so comfortable they will be willing to wear gloves throughout their work day. As compared to situations in the past, our clients now state that with the 310, they feel fully protected”, states Tomás Bodero Sáiz, Marketing Manager of the company, exclu- sive distributors of Showa products in Spain and Portugal. Perspiration is a bodily function that regulates our temperature, but it can pose problems to feet hygiene. Under stress, the foot can generate up to 20 grs. or sweat per our, though levels can be high- er as one third of the population suffers from excessive perspira- tion. This, in addition to waterproof treatments to which footwear is subjected, means evaporation is impeded. And in turn, this causes unpleasant odour and hygiene issues. Línea de Seguridad, the manufacturer located in La Rioja, introduced their patented Perspiration System for the new TAO Trekking range of products, gradually eliminating humidity from inside footwear, to main- tain ideal temperature so that feet remain dry and comfortable.
