18|REPORTAJE Call to Action Call to Action was the title of the exhibi- tion that the Polytechnic Design School of Milan (SPD Scuola Politecnica di Design) presented at the Ventura Lambrate area under the Fuorisalone. The exhibition presented a selection of the best works of the master’s degrees design carried out in the school. Furniture, cars, advertising, editorial content ... All projects had a common denominator: a call to action to capture the public’s interest in a song of love, beauty and craftsmanshi. Tortona Area: Temporary Museum for New Design Two iconic locations of Milan’s Tortona district hosted during Fuorisalone the Temporary Museum for New Design: the Superstudio Più, of 10,000 square meters, and the historic Superstudio 13, the famous and pioneering photography studio opened in 1983, with an enclosure of 2,000 square meters. In this edition, the peculiar museum was dedicated to the global design and its facilities presented the evolution of design in all its forms: international brands and famous designers showed their vision of the future, but there were also areas dedicated to research and young designers. ‘Global Design: Home, technology, Life’, in Via Tortona, was one of the outstan- ding projects in the Temporary Museum for New Design, with the large-scale virtual installations of Hyundai, which showed the creation of a car of wind and water. Another internationally renowned brand, Samsung, was present with the latest South Korean technology in the hands of the visionary designer François Confino. So the new technologies, with 3D projections, interactive videos, games and light installations have featured in the museum with artists such as Carlo Bernardini, Romano Baratta and studies as Apparati Effimeri and ProvocActionArt. Brera, Design District Located in the historic center of Milan, the Brera district is known for its cobbles- tone streets, palaces, monuments and restaurants. But also, Brera has become in recent years a landmark of design. Not surprisingly, the most prestigious firms have chosen this neighborhood to install their showrooms. Foscarini, for example, opened this Mi- lan Design Week with a new space in the heart of Brera, with an installation by At- tilio Stocchi. Located in a typical building of Milan, the space has been designed to play back scenes that define the values of the firm, performed by artists and designers from different times. During the Fuorisalone, Brera hosted the most important international brands in the world of design with a program of activities that exceeded 90 events. According to the organization, about 100,000 people visited the district during Fuorisalone Milanese.■ Más información: http://fuorisalone.it/2013/ http://www.venturaprojects.com/ven- tura-lambrate-2013/ www.superstudiogroup.com http://fuorisalone2013.breradesigndis- trict.it/ In Ventura Lambrate, iCandela inter- viewed a young designer, Giorgia Paga- nini, from Prodottadagiò studio, who ex- plained us her design, the lamp Discola.
