12|artículo define floor ceilings and walls. After defining the architectural lines that make up the space, the architect proposed to her owner to tattoo the walls herself, to personalize them. It was a project where the client actively was involved in the spatial configuration and in the choice of all finishes. Thus, graphical applications on the graphite wall and windows of the ground floor reproduce faces of her family. Other passions of the owner, as the sea and wine, are in bathrooms, kitchen and other walls. Natural light in the lower floor The lower level, located at street level, receives natural light from a large window. It is shown as an open space where leisure and work are integrated. The folds of the oak parquet flooring show the existence of an upper floor and configure at the same time the long working desk. A closet wall defines the position of the conference-dining room table and hides behind it both the installation and the cutlery. The kitchen and bathrooms have been treated in different ways. The first is hidden behind a sliding door like ano- ther closet. The position of the wine re- frigerator is in sight and privileged. The downstairs bathroom is at the bottom, on a platform that escapes from within. The sliding door and glass top range are to enhance this visual continuity and the entrance of natural light. The work area is dominated by two LCD screens, but instead not any television set is in sight in the living room. From the top floor, they suspended a plaster- board tongue that does not touch the floor and is lit with indirect environmental light. This wall serves at the same time as a large projection screen and has a decorative niche. Light is one of the buil- ding materials that formalize the space. The second floor holds the private functional program. By accessing, the first shown open and transparent space is the bathroom area. After this, re- appears the oak flooring defining the night area and the bed headboard. The latter incorporates lighting and a dres- sing mirror. In the floor, the tatami fits at the same level a hot tub from where you can also see the projections on the wall suspended. In the bedroom a TV set is integrated into the closet opposi- te the bed. Custom made designed lamp The double height of the housing is underlined by a large ceiling lamp, designed on purpose. The rest of the lighting project has been integra- ted into the architecture to draw the spaces with light as well, creating different scenes depending on the occasion. The space is thus defined by an anonymous architectural light, lighting techniques incorporating both linear and point sources, the custom made parts as the large hanging chandelier and the ‘lamp-mirror-dressing room’. The set is enhanced with the addition of pieces like the Arc de Castiglioni (Flos) or Joan Gaspar’s Nolita (Mar- set). Other design pieces also highlight such as the Steelwood chairs by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullech (Magis). créditoS Arquitectura/ Architecture Miquel Àngel Julià Fotografias/Photos Starp Estudi credits
