This approach guarantees exce- llent outcomes regarding air cir- culation, light control and overall comfort. The Project also responds to the remit of the Client in terms of its environmental impact. The sustainability of the building is evident in the solutions adopted for the external cladding which, thanks to the use and the particular characteristics of “Oka- lux” panels, distributes natural light uniformly throughout all the work areas and means that artificial light is only needed for a maximum of two hours in the darker, win- ter months. This allows significant savings in energy which, together with the 350 kw photovoltaic sys- tem, renders the new headquarters totally self-sufficient regarding energy needs. Zero impact Archi- tecture. Individually controlled air-condi- tioning is present in the office area, while the production area benefits from underfloor district heating. The solution adopted for the can- teen area is rather particular in that it is visually open to the production facilities. The construction has two different faces: during the day a white, solid and opaque building which reverbe- rates the light of the sun while du- ring the night it becomes a radiant container which emanates light.■
