38|REPORTAJE T he manufacturing section is constructed using a tradi- tional prefabricated system, while the new offices occupy the principal frontal area of the building. Overhanging volumes containing the various departments are mounted at three different levels on a large “muro-quinta” in reinforced concrete connected to the prefabri- cated section. The complex extends longitudina- lly and is closed to the light on this side, offering no visual communica- tion between the interior and exte- rior. In contrast, all the short sides of the various volumes benefit from large transparent windows. Each differing substantially from the other, the volumes are suppor- ted on slender columns and made entirely of steel. The cladding used on all the visible sides of the overhanging bodies is formed of a three-layered panel with external and internal layers in transparent honeycomb polycarbo- nate sandwiching a middle layer in Okalux.
