34|REPORTAJE So that people in Segovia could be part of the installation, we de- cided that a characteristic element in the city in Segovia –suggested by Clara Luquero- was ideal. These were the ¨ ’esgrafiados’- pat- terns engraved on the facades of historical and heritage buildings. Worksphop participants chose and drew them on the cartons and fina- lly cut them to make each shape. They were finally put in with all the other white cartons, giving shape to the final work. In order to enhance the installa- tion, a light project was designed in which white light provided volume for the tetra brick structure. We mixed this with other indirect cian lights above, generating a different atmosphere at another level – be- ing the corridor ́s ceiling over 25 metres high-. We wanted the height to be felt and by highlighting it and separating the levels, we thought it was visually appealing and the structure would benefit. As shown in the photographs, the result was a white winding tunnel -15 metres in length and 3.5 me- tres in height- in which light pla- yed an essential role by allowing spectacular chiaroscuros and bac- klights.■ More inforMation: www.travesiasdeluz.com Watch the video of the installation in iCandela.com, videos section.
