48|PROTAGONISTA The apocalyptic dynamics of the rush of the message, conditions the lighting to take the same route. But really the light is the same and does not change its properties because it is and will always remain the universal peacemaker. Everything spins around it or stops and the conception of light in lighting is the same from the beginning to the end. Possibly time conditions can affect the presentation conditions, but this does not change the original nature. You will participate as a speaker at the Latin American Meeting of Lighting Design, EILD 2012, to be held in late October in Queretaro, Mexico. A few months ago you anticipated that your presentation would speak of the sun, what is the relationship between the sun and lighting? We understand and know the Sun as the main promoter of holiday and tou- rism. It is an excellent salesman of skin creams and successful broker in the sale of sunglasses. We know almost nothing about the Sun. Engineers apparently use it to sell energy saving appliances and designers to raise their arrogance. It will be convenient to recover the humility and recognition of the Sun as a source of life, and the only existing element that allows us to enter the field of inquiry and analysis of our everyday existence. Working as an exercise in lighting design, the study of its impli- cations is crucial to measure its conse- quences. The EILD 2012 will be a space for reflection and exchange of ideas among lighting Latin-American de- signers; how do you appreciate this experience? Do you see much diffe- rence between the lighting designs performed in Latin America with the Spanish firms? For some time I have felt the urge to experience the nature of Latin America’s light. pacificador universal.
