Lighteam Gustavo Avilés undertakes lighting projects in residential, commercial, exterior, monuments, museums ... We asked Gustavo Avilés what kind of project he feels most comfortable and which has presented a major challenge when considering the lighting. This is his great answer: “Among the major projects, the most important are the residential housing. The light penetrates the daily intimacy of people. It breaks or leagues privacies. Holds infatuation or causes divorce. Stabilizes or destroys the harmony and coexistence. In the laundry is the promise of renewal. In the dining room, the living reality. In front of the sink boudoir, the doubt of self-assertion. In the bedroom, rest and love. They are definitely important projects. ‘You can go to great museum beautifully lit in a visit and do not come back, but at home, if the lighting is wrong, you will pay every day.’ Saving energy is not only saving watts or power units consump- tion. The real savings are in the human body with a humanistic vision in the sense of organic ergonomics. In lighting, energy saving is not only measured in watts. Per- sonally I have never seen one. Nor have I seen a lumen, and a lux. All these units are peacemakers quantitative measurements but have nothing to do with the phenomenon of visual percep- tion itself. It is not pessimism or simply bad news, it is a fact that we can not appreciate lighting in quantitative measures of an alleged sustainability. The LED has been the star of the most important fair of the lighting industry, Light + Building 2012, held in Frankfurt, Germany last April. Are technological advances changing the concept of lighting? Yes. Now architectural lighting can lead to thematic script in the development of ideas. solo se mide en watts. Personalmente yo nunca he visto uno.
