The room has a first zone to allocate the wardrobe, shower and toilet with an etched glass as a division. With this, the room has an access area and beyond it the great room opens to the sea. The lighting helps to keep this duality with a ‘lantern’ effect, with stronger light at the entrance and fading as we approach the façade. Perceived as an enjoyment for the senses, the light is presented in four scenes: day, night, wow and bathroom. The concept of lighting has taken into account the importance of the views, so we do not find any light built-in to the ceiling in the first five metres of the façade, allowing the vision of the inside and the outside without interferences or reflexions. The lighting is low through ornamental floor lights with a ‘lantern’ effect that can be generated when it is needed. intElligEnt building The recreational area consists of a bar, restaurant and an outside chill-out, it is one of the most gorgeous areas, being a gathering point for clients surrounded by lit crystal panels with artificial plants watered by beams of artificial light from RGB LEDs using dmx control, along with ti- meless furniture supported by converging walls lit by fluorescence lights from the top through an architectonic gap. Thanks to the dimmable capacity of the RGB LEDs with dmx control, depending on the time of the day and the intensity of light, they change accordingly, adapting to the light conditions at any time of the day. Regarding the exterior, the attic terrace has ornamental lighting on the floor whe- reas for the ground floor terrace they used foot lamps combined with other built-in to the floor, this light combination defines atmospheres and spaces. The W Hotel Barcelona is managed by an automated control system, KNX by Jung, which makes it an intelligent building ca- pable of adapting to lighting conditions 24 hours a day, making a sustainable and proper use at any time. ■ Percibida como espacio de disfrute de los sentidos, la iluminación se presenta con cuatro escenas, día, noche, wow y baño.
