32|REPORTAJE the diversity, creativity and fun that defines Corus. Throughout the buil- ding, the ‘exploding’ and colorful Corus logo is recalled in lighting, brightly colored walls, furniture and carpets. Each floor has a lively kit- chen, breakout spaces and there are generous outdoor terraces that invite staff to meet informally. The most significant of these gathering places is on the roof of the TV production studios—housed in a building within the building at the heart of the atrium. There employees can plug in around a Steelcase Mediascape lounge, sketch under oversized Luxo Lamps, play foosball and even de‐stress with an exhilarating decent down a twirling slide to the ground floor. The slide has become an important symbol for Corus – as a delightful and inspiring place in which to work. As part of the City Of Toronto’s public art program, TEDCO in collaboration with Public Art Management launched an interna- tional competition. Artists were invited to submit concepts for the public art at Corus Quay. A commission was awarded to the UK design collective Troika, to create three installations for the building. The installations are visible from the public areas in the building, including the public hallway that leads visitors from the front en- trance of the building to the shores of the lake. ■
