Phases of the project The ESE project in the facilities of the Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahía Real consists on the analysis of the different product technologies, selection of manufacturers and testing in the lab, in order to verify the performance. The goal is to achieve savings in the use of lighting, guaranteeing quality, services (lighting and energy), and the life of the product (according to the L70 curve) throughout the 8 years of the contract. Applus conducts a basic project engineering of the lighting system consisting of the following tasks: • Inventory, taking of measurements and of technical characteristics of the luminaries and existing lamps in the areas and rooms where their replacement is suggested. • Simulation and calculations of energy savings after the new luminaries have been installed using the real data of energy price contracted by the client. • Technical description and characteristics of the new equipment to be installed. • Lighting study of the operation area, analyzing actual levels, possible redistribution of the points of light according to usage needs, and maximal optimization of energy savings. • Technical study of the site, installation and integration of the new luminaries and/or lamps. • Laboratory checkouts to test the service. • Supply and assembly of materials that comply with the technical specifications. When the construction ends the luminous and energy performance are tested and a Takeover Record is signed. The project consists of the substitution of 2.102 luminaries for LED technology. By substituting the conventional luminaries for LED, a more efficient operation of the electric installation can be achieved through the reduction of the power used per luminary to obtain the same previous luminous level. Installation of systems to control and monitor use through a SCADA tool for the Verification of Energy Performance. Product selection and laboratory testing For each project, Applus Energy analyses the best solution among more than 30 manufacturers of interior lighting. This allows us to select the appropriate technical
