20|AULA cd Summer semester With the support of SPOTs project4 18 students enrolled this semester and were organized in 3 teams developing different lighting projects in the ex-heat exchangers stations (now reconverted in social and cultural spots): Štítová, Jegorovovo and Wuppertalská. At the end of semester the opening and exhibition of final works were presented to the community of each center. On one hand, this it is an attempt to bring art to the SPOTs communities’ centers, and by other hand is a great opportunity to help the students to realize their projects and to be involved from the beginning to the end of the process. Spot Štítová (orientated on new media) In this spot the team was working in one exhibition with the topic “Oscar night”. By one side, they designed and constructed one overhead projector, one simple hand-made analog projector which principle is to project magnified images on vellum paper from old slides, thanks to combination of powerful diodes and lenses. By other side, they also were asked to make tests and find the more suitable exhibition lighting for series of posters printed in different paper’s qualities installed on the walls of the spot. Posters were designed in a different subject in the faculty (thanks to this we also have promoted certain interaction among subjects in the Faculty). Spot Jegorovovo (orientated on seniors, youth and social activities) This team found out that this ex- heat exchanger has not being yet reconstructed. They were asked to create special luminaires for the future coffee shop of the spot. Then, from meetings with coordinators they decided that it also could be organized one workshop during which they could teach people how to make the luminaires. So, in this case when the coffee shop is going to be ready, they already would know how to continue with the luminaires in case of necessity. The result was a table lamp prototype under the basis of origami, made with wooden base, matt foil thickness 0, 80 mm and fluorescent bulb E27. Spot Wuppertalská-KVP (orientated on community garden) The four members-team had many ideas for the intervention in the spot. At the end they have decided to solve the lack of ambient lighting in the community garden on the backside of the building, where a site-specific wooden sculpture by Dutch artist Mathijis Lieshout was positioned. Actually, they decided to use the sculpture in the chosen concept with the intention of underline its forms and configuration. Technical solution was made by using structured composition of fiber optics that symbolizes the ephemeral net produced by spiders. Summarized methodology of the subject Aim: Introduction of lighting basics and developing this knowledge about physical and psychological propreties of light through a specific task in a given concept. Goal: Creation of lighting object, installation or ephemeral solution in a particular environement. Process: Introduction of certain problem – task – in which medium of light should be considered or as an
