■ Más información: www.philips.es Mira los vídeos de este reportaje en iCandela.com emits uniform light that is safe for the artworks and meets international criteria for the conservation of art. World’s most advanced lighting solution The new LED lighting illuminates artworks that date back to the Middle Ages. In total, the lighting illumina- tes 7,500 artworks spanning several centuries. Philips lighting solution consists of 3⁄4 of a million LEDs, inclu- ding 3,800 LED spots, more than 1.8 kilometers of LED lighting the ceiling and an advanced LED lighting control system via a mobile application for museum employees to use. A total lighting The Rijksmuseum or “National Mu- seum” in Amsterdam is an enormous building complex that is architectu- rally varied. The art collection covers over 7,500 artifacts, exhibited throug- hout 9,500 sq/m of gallery space. To give a sense of scale to the project, close to half-a-million LEDs were used to light the interior of the Rijksmu- seum and 1.8 kilometers of LED up- lighting have been used in the largest renovation project in the museum’s 213-year history. The lighting solution for the exhi- bitions thus harnesses the flexibili- ty of LEDs as a digital light source, combining it with a state-of-the-art lighting control system, and allowing the light throughout the museum to be controlled via an easy-to-use web interface. This means that museum staff are able to control and set the lighting levels on individual works of art to ensure that all of the pieces are properly balanced throughout the museum. ■ More information: www.philips.es Watch the videos of this report in iCandela.com
