More than 185.000 professionals requested the Professional Card of the Construction in 2011

The past year closed with a balance more than positive regarding applications of Professional Cards of the Construction (TPC), as more than 185.000 workers of the sector of the construction asked his accreditation. At present, they are more than 587.000 workers of the sector those that have requested the TPC, a document by means of which accredit , amongst other data, the learning received by the worker of the sector in matter of prevention of labour risks, as well as his periods of occupation in the distinct companies in which it have exerted his labour activity, his professional category and his experience in the sector, as it establishes the valid General Agreement of the Sector of the Construction.

The system of the Professional Card of the Construction allows to accredit the learning received by the worker along his professional career, what supposes an advance in the pointed line with the creation of the 'account of learning' included in the recent reform of the labour market approved by the government. It fits to stand out that from September of 2010, date in which it opened to the autonomous professionals the possibility to possess the TPC, have been more than 10.700 those that have requested it. The majority profile of the workers of the sector that already have requested the TPC is the one of a professional of between 36 and 45 years of age, that carries between one and five working in the construction. On the other hand, so only 3,4% of the applicants is woman and 43,7% found in situation of unemployment in the moment to request it.
