Almería increased its exports of natural stone more than 13% during the first quarter

The province of Almería has increased exports of natural stone and articles thereof 13.3% in the first quarter of the year compared to the same period in 2010. With these data, the province covers 83 per cent of the total exported by Andalusia. These figures were revealed at the opening on 28 June of the 'I meeting international of the stone Natural of Macael' organized by the Ministry of economy, innovation and science through Extenda-Agency of Andalusia's international promotion.
Also the economy, innovation and science in Almería, Juan Carlos Perez, representative indicated that Almería, "with sales in 2011 of 6.22 million euros in natural stone - of EUR exported by Andalusia-7.5 million, sells mainly to United States, followed by other countries such as Germany, United Kingdom and France". "In these sales marble and its manufactures are the absolute protagonists," added Perez. It has also remarked that this action by the Junta de Andalucía comes to show "support by the Andalusian government sector" and what result "of the collaboration with the Association of entrepreneurs of marble".
