15.398 Free housing were initiated in the first quarter

In the first quarter of 2011 began 15.398 free housing, representing an increase of 11.2% over the fourth quarter of 2010 and a decline of 13.8% in interannual rate.
As for the completed houses, between January and March were completed 30.809 free housing, 33% less than in the previous quarter and 51.7% in interannual rate. In the past 12 months (between April 2010 and March 2011) started 60.627 free housing, 19.4 per cent less than in the same period before and ended 185.552, 41.5 per cent less.
The largest number of free housing started in first trimester per 100,000 inhabitants recorded in the Basque country, Navarre and Melilla, while higher percentages of completed free housing took place in Extremadura, Ceuta, Melilla and La Rioja.
Five autonomous communities concentrated 56,01% free housing undertaken between January and March: Andalusia, Catalonia, Basque country, Madrid and Castile and León, Spain. The largest number of completed free housing was located in Andalusia, Catalonia, Castile and León, Galicia, Valencia and Madrid, which concentrated 56,89% of the total.
