96% Of Park green waste is reused in new Asturian works

In 2010, the asturians managed, through the management centre of waste Green Park, in the municipality of Siero, over 240,000 tonnes of inert waste. Of these, 216.985 tonnes correspond to from construction and demolition waste and the rest came from industrial waste. Up to 96% of the waste managed last year at the plant were recycled and recovered for reuse in different projects.
According to Green Park, have occurred and have been put on the market 198,000 tons of recycled aggregates or eco-aggregates; 9.616 tons of wood biomass or plywood; 2,000 tons of recycled cardboard, plastics and paper, and 1,200 tons of scrap.
These data indicate that in Asturias begins to realize a new situation: the segregation of waste at source. José Luis Martín, Manager of Park Green points out: "More than 60% of the waste who came last year at the plant arrived separately in origin, compared to 40 per cent of waste arriving mixed." "This practice is key to promote recycling, and avoid an illegal practice that generates each year 300,000 tons of waste in illegal landfills."
Many of the recycled waste come from works such as the stands of El Molinón, the demolition of the estate of Bobes, the burying of Langreo roads or works in calle Ramon y Cajal in Gijón. Waste that have been used in the form of aggregates in such works as the unfolding of the AS-17 of the tunnels of Riaño, Bobes polygon or the roads of access to the Zalia.
