Atlas Copco demonstrates the energy efficiency of the technology of the blowers of air screw
July 14, 2010
The introduction of air with internal rather than external compression blowers establishes a new reference point for energy efficiency in the market for low pressure applications. This is the main conclusion of the technical article published by the Division Oil-free Air of Atlas copco, which explains the differences between the technology of screw and the traditional system of lobe type 'roots'. The technology of screw (which offers from about 30% more energy efficiency) is used in the recently presented range of blowers of ZS screw of Atlas Copco, which improves the energy efficiency of low pressure applications in sectors such as the treatment of wastewater and pneumatic transport.
The range of blowers of screw ZS uses internal compression, while the traditional lobe type 'roots' blowers use an external pressure system compression. Detailed technical article demonstrates that, with a Thermodynamic approach, the internal compression is more efficient than the external from 0.4 bar (e) / 5.8 psi (g). Evidence, checked and certified by the independent Technische Überwachungs-Verein (Association for the technical inspection of Germany, or TÜV), have shown that the ZS blowers have an energy efficiency 23.8 per cent higher than the trilobulares blowers to 0.5 bar (e) / 7 psig, and 39.7% greater than 0.9 bar (e) / 13 psig.
