The pageant established as the reference for the sector of facilities in Spain

The Integral facilities materials show, InstalMAT, has become just two editions in a meeting of reference installations in Spain professionals, by bundling a comprehensive exhibition range and the largest forum of debate and reflection on the issues that will shape the future of the sector. Proof of this is that, despite the current difficult economic situation, the pageant has been visited by more than 10,000 professionals, complying with the initial forecasts.

The President of the Organizing Committee, Pere Miquel Guiu, stated that "InstalMAT has returned to show that it is a very useful and necessary tool for our collective, not only to maintain business contacts and see trends and developments, but also to expand knowledge and discover new business opportunities in a sector which has great weight in the economy" "in the country, with a turnover around 15 billion euros a year".

In addition to displaying all kinds of solutions for professional installations in the exhibition area, InstalMAT developed a comprehensive programme of activities that have aroused great interest among the visitors during their four days of celebration. More than 2,000 people have attended some of the more than 40 activities carried out, between conferences, workshops, presentations and training sessions.

Among the activities carried out, should highlight the day of the energy efficiency, whose main objective was to show through examples and case studies how to reduce the energy costs of companies to increase their competitiveness, taking into account the current economic context and the anticipation of a sharp increase in the price of energy.

Sponsored by Daikin and LCA enterprises, the meetings were coorganizadas by the Institut Català d' energy of the Generalitat de Catalunya (ICAEN), the College of engineers technicians Industriales de Barcelona (CETIB), the cluster of energy efficiency of Catalunya (CEEC), the Grup de Gestors Energètics (GGE)the facilities consultants Association (ICA), the Association of engineers industrial Catalonia (EIC), the Catalan Association of technicians in energy, air conditioning and refrigeration (ACTECIR) and the Catalan Association of companies of facilities and maintenance (ACEIM). They have also counted with the collaboration of the Association of managers of maintenance (AGEM), among others.

Air conditioning systems three times more efficient than the traditional, ecological boiler or protective elements of electrical installations, were some of the proposals that were presented in the first edition of the 2010 product Award. In a pioneering initiative, more than 2,000 professionals in facilities voted through the website of the Hall the best product from among those selected to qualify for the contest. The award aims to recognise the quality and the excellence of the exhibitors, to highlight the view and experience of professionals, and contribute to the dynamism of the sector.

Another novelty of this edition was that the contest of Fira de Barcelona was held for the first time in conjunction with the twenty-first Congress International of Conaif for installations and energy, organized by the National Confederation of business associations, plumbingGas, heating, air conditioning, fire protection, electricity and similar.

InstalMAT, which has a biennial periodicity, will again be held in 2012.
