BASF Construction Chemicals delivers the BASF Awards XII students of the ETSECCP of Barcelona

The awards, which are called among the students in their final years of engineering of roads, canals and ports of the schools in Madrid, Barcelona, Granada, Valencia and Santander, reached its twelfth call in Barcelona. The jury of awards consists of members of the technical school, University professors, directors of Department of BASF and a representative of the Depana environmental organization.
The award ceremony was chaired by Eduardo Brandao, director of business of the line Line Admixture Systems Iberia BASF Construction Chemicals Spain, who in his speech noted that "BASF is a company with social responsibility." The chemical industry has had a very important role in many changes of today's society, but also represents a way forward and a contribution to innovation. "These awards are proof of this."
Josep Casanovas, Vice-Rector for University policy of UPC, who expressed his thanks to BASF "for its commitment to these awards, this year reaching its 12th Edition in Barcelona," and by the introduction of the awards in several Spanish schools accompanied him on the presidential table. Climent Molins, Deputy Director of the school technical Superior in engineering of roads, canals and ports of Barcelona cited as an example to follow Ildefons Cerdá, since that school dedicates this course to the Barcelona's engineer, "who worried about the urban environment and attempted to improve it for everyone". For its part, Carles Gómara, Manager of business innovation (d) ' the Generalitat of Catalonia ACC1Ó, explained that "who will come out of the crisis are innovative companies that have innovative people with mission and vision of the future." "The winners are an example of this." Finally, the President of the Association Depana, Joan Cuyàs, stressed the importance of the work of engineers in "combine the natural environment to human existence." "Since its founding, there engineers among the members of Depana."
The remodeling of a pier breakwater wins first prize
The first prize, with a strength of 1,500 euros, was to work ' remodeling testero Pier breakwater - Ergransa', David Carranza Rabat and Xavier Aguilera Mengual. The second prize, with a crew of 1,000 euros, went to 'Solutions for beams of tied up in drawers floating docks', Franzisko Xavier Unzaga Serei and José María Vilchez Moya. The third prize, worth 500 euros, was 'Expansion of the port of Tarragona' and expansion of the pier in Andalusia, of Genís shell Farré, Ramon Just Serrano and Ferran Vidal Codina. Finally, the 'special mention to the best environmental treatment', with 750 euros, was to ' deposit of regulating rainwater of Urgell-Mallorca and associated collectors-, Mònica Batlle races, Òscar Pérez Teis and Maria Solé Bundó.
Awards BASF also in Valencia
A week later, on May 4, BASF was awarded in the city of the Turia, from the 7th Awards BASF Construction Chemicals, in the school technical Superior in engineering of roads, canals and ports of Valencia. The awards jury formed once more members of the technical school, University professors, directors of Department of BASF and a representative of the Professional Association of graduates in environmental sciences of the Valencian Community.
The first prize went to work 'Follow-up of the construction of the T-2 Metro Valencia line, section Alicante-Ruzafa,' onion Nicolás Pereda and Maria Nerea Pina Galdón. The second prize went to 'Steels prepared against corrosion', Amparo Garcia Cervantes, Sheila Núnez basin and Verónica Torres Climent. The third prize went to 'Reaction and resistance to fire in structural elements', Borja Cerezález Galván, Gregorio de Julián Pérez and Néstor Pérez Solé. Finally, the special mention for the best environmental treatment was to 'Works of defence and environmental adaptation in the mid basin of the Serpis River', of Nuria Alonso García, David Baudés Arnal, Stéphanie Perez Margarit and Josep Sanchis Sanchis.
