Sika is responsible for the waterproofing of two hospitals in Murcia
November 30, 2009
The two centres, the Nuevo Hospital de Cartagena and the Hospital del Mar Menor, have been designed by the prestigious Catalan study House Consultors i Arquitectes who petitioned Sika advice on the best alternative for the waterproofing of both hospitals.
After an exhaustive study by the technicians of Sika, the offered option was the placement of synthetic sheet of last generation based on FPO (flexible polyolefins) Sarnafil TG 66.
These systems of plates consist of the placement of metallic profiles Sarnabar in all the perimeters with top cord of FPO, which will give the membrane a sharing of efforts and tensions, prolonging the useful life of the waterproofing.
All covered has been placed barrier steam Sarnavap 1000 E, geotextile of polypropylene Sarnafelt A 300 and Sarnafelt 400 GK, strengthening esquineras, indoor and outdoor Sarnafil TY 160 and Sarnafil TZ 130, as well as layer of protection of 8 mm in thickness of recycled passable level Street S covered rubber - Protection Sheet. All welds have been made by a robot designed by Sika Sarnafil called 661 Sarnamatic, which provides a software which suits temperature of welding according to external environmental temperature at that time. The prior use of a Sarnafil T-Prep activator is required for manual soldering. In the Garden covers the scheme is similar to that of the rest of roofs, being the most notable (c) placing a retainer layer of water from 30 mm thick, Sarnavert Drain, able to retain up to 70 litres of water per square meter for monthsensuring the life of the plants of the covers.
