Urban design and functional in the city of the Justice of Barcelona
November 18, 2009
The program of the new court complex distributed 330,000 square meters of the surface in eight separate but connected by a continuous Atrium buildings, thereby creating a series of prismatic blocks interconnected on a public square. The Atrium also allows direct access to each of the blocks, acting as a filter and bringing together workers and visitors of the complex, both at the beginning and end of your visit, around a central and public hall that dominates the exterior plaza.
More than 10,000 practicable Windows
The spatial composition of the complex aims to break away from the rigid image of Justice, by establishing a balance between the different work areas, public spaces and the landscape. Four of the blocks, which House courts in their first plants, are located surrounding the perimeter of a building of four heights which facilitates the connection between them. The remaining blocks are home to the judicial services of L'Hospitalet, a centre of forensic sciences and two commercial buildings with shops on the ground floor. All buildings are designed as pieces formally contained, very reticulate and roof facade of colored concrete. Lleno-vacío reticular scheme of the facades is one of the most characteristic elements of the building where all the holes have been closed with the series Technal Epure Windows. In total, have been placed more than 10,000 practicable Windows hidden blade which featured profiles of leaf and frame in order to faithfully adapt the aesthetic requirements of architects have been created.
Savings in heating and air conditioning
Epure is a window of hidden sheet that conceals the section of the frame of road behind the frame profile. This solution allows you to earn more dimension of glass surface, and at the same time, minimize section profiles seen from the outside. Having a functional, urban design, your application is ideal in architectural projects of quality where pursued a unique aspect of the facade, both in new construction and rehabilitation.
Due to breakage of thermal bridge, consisting of two renewed polyamide, and the effect of the double glass, reduces heat losses with respect to a simple window 55%. This is achieved a remarkable saving in heating and air conditioning. In this way and complying with the CTE, reaches a value of UH = 2, 5 W/m2K.
