Much more than a roof
Homes have a total surface area in square metres distributed in a kitchen, a salón-dormitorio and a porch, which is where most of the housework is performed. They build to about 40 centimeters from the ground to avoid flooding, with thick walls of solid brick and Windows of small dimensions to protect themselves from the heat.
Beneficiary families are involved in the construction of your home to enhance the sense of responsibility and ownership in a community deeply conditioned by discrimination.
End of the project, 38 families have adequate housing which has been on behalf of women to protect them, along with their children, the abandonment of their husbands. The feeling of solidarity and cohesion of the community has been promoted to perform joint work which increases self-esteem and sense of dignity. They have also acquired knowledge of construction materials and methods to purchase items at fair prices.
