In 2014, Bosch will continue the work headed to improve the competitiveness and the perspectives of future. Regarding the intention to follow increasing the sales and the final profits, Denner said: “we Have attained to visit a part of our way. Our approach keeps on being the agility, the profitability and the growth.”
The company wants to take advantage of the potentials of existent growth to open new segments of market. For Bosch, the future tendencies of greater importance are the energetic efficiency and the connectivity. “We see other big potentials of business in the field of the called ‘life assisted'. Increasingly people of the third age want to live with the maximum independence and possible autonomy”, explained Denner. Especially the robotic is a market that moves billions, and no only for the societies that age.
The development of the sales of the distinct business areas has seen marked by the strong effects of the exchange rates. Especially, they have seen affected the business areas Technology for the Automotive sector and Goods of Consumption. Independently of this, the business area Technology for the Automotive sector has developed in 2013 of form very positive. The relative business to the systems of direct injection of petrol and injection diesel has grown of important form. Also the injectors for natural gas (CNG) have experienced a big demand. The division Car Multimedia has had a big success with his displays and the systems of information and entertainment. In the area of Industrial Technology registered an important increase because of the sales of machinery of packaging. However, the world-wide weakness of the mechanical engineering produced an important fall in the area Drive and Control Technology. In Goods of Consumption, Bosch had a good turnover with his electrical tools, so much for professionals as for fans to the bricolaje. Instead, the difficult situation in the Solar area Power, that kept also in 2013, affected negatively the development of the business area Technology for the Power and the Edificación. The division hygiene Systems could attain a strong growth thanks to his services of communication, to the equal that the division Termotecnia with his boilers murales of condensation.
The fortress of the euro has had effects very negative on the development of the sales to regional level. Independently of this, the sales in the zone Asia – Pacífico surpassed the ones of the previous exercise in, roughly, 5%. After adjusting the effects derived of the exchange rates, the growth of the sales was of two digits. In North America and Sudamérica, the nominal growth situated , according to the provisional figures, in more than 3%. However, without considering the effects of the exchange rates, the growth in this zone was of a high digit. In spite of the feeble coyuntura in Europe, the sales increased slightly in 2%.
According to the current estimates, Bosch expects a moderate development of the economy in 2014.
