Rautitan, the new generation of sanitary water and heating installations
July 9, 2010
Ferran Agúndez and Joan Cubedo, director and product manager respectively of the technique of building Spain and Portugal of Rehau business area, were responsible for presenting the meeting, with the presence of specialized press, and Josep Ribera, Manager of Ferca, Federació Catalana d'Associacions Territorials d'Empresaris instal.ladors d'electricitat, plumbing, climatització i Catalunya afins.
As he recalled Agúndez in his presentation, echoing what said Rainer Schulz, COO of the Rehau group in the editorial of the latest issue of Insight Magazine, "innovations are the engine of our success" and Rautitan is a good proof of that.
The power of the multilayer
Rautitan is a novel as a whole system, although its characteristics "are not novel individually, as clarified Ferran Agúndez. The system of sliding sleeve, the polymer connection pipes that support higher pressure above the 6 bars... "All this already existed in the market." The uniqueness of this project, of this new generation of product, is that all these features come together in a single system. "And this is what makes it unique and attractive for installers companies who can assess and see the interest that may pose to their facilities," said the technique of building Spain and Portugal of Rehau business area director. The range Rautitan is designed to withstand pressure of 10 bar and has a lifespan of 50 years and 10 years of guarantee.
Depending on the type of installation, it is possible to select between the tubes Rutitan Stabil, His and Pink.
Rautitan stabil is a multilayer of metal tube and polymer characterized by an inner tube of lattice polyethylene (PE-Xa), class A, "the highest classification of this material, which gives some excellent mechanical characteristics", explained Joan Cubedo, head of product of the area of business building technique, Rehau. The tube is self-supporting and resistant to pressure. The next layer is made of aluminium with external polyethylene coating. This multi-layered structure ensures exceptional stability and an optimal relationship tube internal/aluminium which carries a minimum risk of crushing.
For its part, Rautitan His is done in lattice polyethylene (PE-Xa) peroxide and is ideal for installations of water. Finally, Rautitan pink is a tube made of lattice polyethylene (PE-Xa) peroxide coated barrier against oxygen, perfect for heating installations.
The characteristics of the materials must be added the bonding technique Rautitan PX, which gives greater reliability and security. The perfect tightness of the system eliminates any possibility of losses, while the structure of the 'fitting' and the sliding sleeve excludes any possibility of mounting error. "The key issue is the Union, polymeric, for sliding sleeve, which gives you features such as reliability, high performance and security, which is awarded to the product itself, the material itself and the European Union," said Cubedo.
Rautitan PX sliding cartridges are manufactured with PVDF (polivinilideno fluoruro) while the fittings are a completely non-toxic material that does not alter the characteristics of the drinking water of PPSU (polifenilsulfona). In both cases is of high quality materials and that have already proven their excellent qualities in the manufacture of aircraft and clinical products. They are characterised by their high resilience and resistance to chemicals and heat aging. It is especially advantageous its lightness as well as the fact that can be used in safe mode even with extreme temperatures up to - 10 ° c.
Despite its low weight, the 'fittings' Rautitan PX are very robust and resistant. Its large internal diameter gives a hydraulic properties excellent. And thanks to the material they are made, PPSU, does not form inlays or typical corrosion of metals and is completely hygienic, which makes it the ideal fitting to water pipes.
Easy but secure mounting
"We have combined all the pipes so that they can be used with the same Union," said Joan Cubedo, who demonstrated how easy it is to mount the Rautitan with the help of some of the attendees. Sliding cartridges allow you to perform the Union on both sides, due to the material with which they are made. In addition, due to his elasticity requiring only exert a small force of pressure to mount them. "So far, the brass caps presented the handicap of the greater was the larger diameter and heavier should be the tool," said Cubero. But to make it in polymer, mounting can be up to diameters of 40 centimeters with the same tool, the Rautool A-light.
The process is as easy as cut the tubing, insert the cartridge in any position, widening tube a few times to insert the Union, which is placed with the tool A-light, and strain.
The result is a Union that provides a perfect transition from the water, without obstacles to prevent its passage, thus minimizing the losses of loads of water. In addition, polymer, being a non-toxic material, provides maximum safety, without risk of migration or of lead, zinc or other metals. "It is a system that provides very interesting features, especially taking into account that we are talking about facilities that are hidden, often inaccessible, that exist but that no one can see them, but that precisely for this reason we must have total security in facilities", said Ferran Agúndez, who added: "We know that stricter regulations regarding sanitation facilities of sanitary water are being prepared, and therefore believe that this system can give important impetus in this niche market".
