Industrial buildings, the administrative offices and commercial buildings are the first three categories referred to in the guidelines of sustainable building, a collection of publications issued by the public company Ihobe, from the Department of the environment, spatial planningAgriculture and fisheries.
These documents, available in electronic format on www.ihobe.net, present a series of recommendations to relevant stakeholders in the design, construction and maintenance of buildings to implement in their building projects with the aim of contributing to environmental sustainability.
Guidelines contained an extensive account of good practices applicable to the different types of building throughout its life cycle. Thus, inter alia, cover issues ranging from building materials to the construction process or the relevant aspects of consumption of energy and other natural resources that are associated with the use of the building phase.
In particular, these publications present a series of chips that include specific measures for the improvement of sustainability in each of the types of buildings covered.
In addition, they collect different case studies of buildings, either in project, either already executed, in the area of the Basque country, providing information on actions taken in the same.
