PCI Pecimor DK: the adhesive which dries the waters
December 15, 2008
The thermal insulation of basements with outer walls exposed to groundwater is a necessity. If the insulation is not performed, the walls cooled to such an extent that occurs condensation on inner surfaces for long periods of time. The basement cannot be used properly if they are not protected through the insulation. Mildew can appear not only on the walls but also the items that are stored in the basement.
Styrodur C panels are ideal for insulation of perimeter in ground water, thanks to its optimum thermal insulation capacity, its high resistance to compression and its low absorption of water.
A waterproof adhesive without solvent
The PCI Pecimor DK adhesive does not contain solvents. It is composed of three parts of a liquid compound made from a polimérica-bituminosa emulsion and a part of a compound of dust from cement. Once mixed, the adhesive can be processed during a period of 60 to 80 minutes, preferably at a temperature of about 23 ° C (73.4 ° F) and a relative humidity of 50 per cent. The type of media to which these adhesives can be applied are structurally dense concrete, the enfoscados groups of mortars PII or PIII type, according to the DIN 1053 masonry works with bricks, silico-calcareous bricks, blocks of lightweight concrete and hollow concrete blocks, porous concrete, or sealed with a heavy bituminous coating surfaces. Once the layer of primer has dried, Styrodur C insulation panels can adhere to the following day. When the sticker is placed below the groundwater level it should be along the entire surface, while if it is placed above the groundwater level it will suffice to implement a gluing points.
Environmentally friendly insulation panels with the environment
For more than 40 years, Styrodur C of Basf has protected housing of heat, cold and moisture. These insulation panels do not contain compounds chlorine-fluoro-carbons (CFC), hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC) or hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), and air as a gas of foam. Likewise, provide thermal insulation to the buildings that comply with the rules governing the construction of passive houses respectful with the environment. The XPS panels are durable and impervious to moisture and are available in several versions ideal for insulation tailored to the buildings.
