The project Symbcity House of the Spanish team
Symbcity House Is a project that is cream with the aim to change the cities and turn them into an efficient urban ecosystem merging the rehabilitation of existent houses with the ones of new work. Symbcity, is much more that a simple house, is a new form to understand the city.
The construction of an efficient human habitat and more sustainable has to treat to struggle and resolve the existent situation, because the core of our old cities represents a waste of enormous power for our countries and for all the planet, but at the same time represents the opportunity to show that the compact city is the most balanced model for the human settlements. The problem depends on a wide variety of factors, from the social to the technical, but the most important are the asequibilidad of the operations on a large scale and the social consciousness on the importance of the reuse and transformation of our old buildings.
The project SymbCity House inspires in the concept of Symbiosis; the relation of mutual profit between natural organisms. A new house autosuficiente will cooperate with the existent buildings to reach the aims of sustainability that at present demand to our cities and with the end to help to detain the destruction of our environingingment.
Plateau Team Proposes the colonisation of the covers of the existent buildings by means of the construction of an upper level. Could develop a wide variety of uses, from public installations to houses, in which it centres the project.
The project SymbCity House poses an independent wooden structure to the existent building by the outside. The structural system generated wide the existent houses growing these 1 metre to the outside, increasing the surface of the house and creating a camera of air thanks to the new façade, where can store heat, reducing the consumption of heating in winter.
The additional level that builds in the cover is hanging of the structure of wooden suspenders without intermediate supports, transmitting all the structural loads directly to the floor, without touching neither overload the existent building.
The prototype of SymbCity House for the SDE is composed by the new complete house and a basamento of 1,30 m of height, that represents the host ‘building'. In the basamento will realizar a scenography so much of the outside as of the interior of the building showing the daily life of the original inhabitants of the building.
Regarding the construction, the walls of the house are composed by thick layers of insulator to avoid the loss of heat. The solar incidence is carefully controlled by wingers and other devices of solar protection. Of this way, obtain a good balance between strategies of active and passive saving, attaining a consumption almost zero of power.
SymbCity House Is a fast construction and industrialised. All the system has built following the system balloon-frame, using only material with wooden base, presenting an innovative system of sections of wall industrialised. With this system the transport and the execution are cheap and fast, reducing the waste of power during the period of construction. The distribution of the space is organised in three zones: the main stay where develop all the daily daily activities; a second space multifuncional that acts like playground or invernadero according to the stations; and a third independent where collect all installations and humid chambers.
Besides, the materials of construction are respectable with the environingingment along all his cycle of life.
The contribution of Reynaers Aluminium
A sustainable house no only bases in environingingmental criteria, but also in improving the edificaciones existent. Thus they are necessary versatile products, that adapt to the needs of each user without losing the quality and the energetic saving. The carpentries of aluminium Reynaers offer said requirements because of his ease of moldeo and his big thermal sensors characteristics.

SymbCity House Will be built in Versalles in June of 2014 beside the houses proposed by the others nineteen equipment participants in the Solar Decathlon Europe that will arrive to France from distinct places of the world like Taiwan, India, Mexico, United States and Germany among others.
