"This tax directly attacking the water line of the sector, which finally adopted in the parliamentary proceedings, will, in the current consumption level, an additional charge of 30 million, leading to losses, and companies with the consequent destruction of employment and closure of companies." This devastating effect will not be a result of the conditions of the market or the competitiveness of the industry, but an arbitrary measure of the Administration that the Spanish industry.
These measures will further complicate the difficult situation facing the sector and will incur a loss of insurmountable competitiveness compared to other countries, putting in question the feasibility and possible future investments in the industry. 70 Per cent of sales are today directed to export, and that high cost additional, non-transferable at our prices, we will put out market."
ASCER expected to renew the support of public institutions to avoid the imposition of the rate to azulejera in parliamentary processing industry, and relies on the work of the Parliament to make the appropriate amendments to the Bill.
The sector does not understand that the Government, which on many occasions has recognized the role of the export industry as a lever on which support economic recovery in Spain, take a measure of radical importance without having carried out a detailed evaluation, with the participation of the industrial sectors concerned, the economic consequences involved.
"The gas consumed by the Spanish industry for its production is unrelated to tariff deficit, and therefore should not be developed for that purpose. Natural gas use as revenue solution takes an unbearable burden to the exporting activity azulejera.
On the other hand, installations of cogeneration of high efficiency, competitiveness of industry azulejera source, will have to endure twice the load of this reform: the rate the gas by consuming a rate for electricity and natural gas.
In recent times, the profitability of cogeneration plants has been weakened mainly by the increase in the cost of natural gas, which together with the difficult current situation has caused unemployment of various sector cogeneration facilities. Double taxation proposed by the Government in the proposal of law, only help accelerate the closure of these facilities."
