Since the end of Construmat 2009, the Presidency and the direction of the Hall began a period of reflection and analysis to begin to shape the event of this year. Since then, we have worked elbow with elbow with the main sectoral actors to design an attractive Construmat for exhibitors and visitors and to give response to their needs and concerns. I believe that we are designing the best possible room given the current circumstances.

Construmat will be held again in full way in Gran Via and, in principle, will occupy pavilions 1, 2 and 3 of this new enclosure of the Fira de Barcelona, which is one of the most modern and versatile of Europe. Construmat 2011 focus throughout its range in the southern part of the Gran Via venue, showing the importance of the sector of the construction in our country. In addition, for the first time in its history, Construmat allow access to the public in general. It will be on Saturday 21 of may, day on which the Hall is open 9.30-17 hours.

In addition to being the great showcase of the Spanish construction, Construmat is characterized by having become the major forum for debate and reflection of the sector in which show trends and there are guidelines for the future. In this sense, the contents of the next edition will be closely linked to the three thematic axes. Thus, as an example of innovation, Construmat will once again count on the Casa Barcelona project in which, in a House on a sufficient scale, products and more advanced elements will be exhibited technically in the field of construction. Will also have physical presence the center of materials of the FAD, Mater, which, together with a stand, will organize a workshop to discuss the new materials used in construction.

With regard to rehabilitation, the Hall will continue the initiative undertaken in 2009 with the introduction of a manifesto which sat the basis for the momentum of the rehabilitative activities in our country and that this last summer led to the first Congress of rehabilitation and sustainability. Thus, three actions for the promotion of rehabilitation have been designed within the framework of the Hall. The Agora will host a series of conferences, the laboratory will be the area in which companies will display their products and the route will give visibility to all exhibitors of rehabilitation through a signposted route.

The axis of sustainability will be the initiative for the labelling of products that meet the criteria to be considered sustainable, as well as presenting various projects which meet these criteria. Not to mention the contributions of the main sectoral associations that organized in the framework of Construmat all kinds of technical conferences, seminars and conferences.

We offer a room attractive and useful for all operators in the sector. For this reason, we have set up talks with the main sectoral associations of construction and we have carried out a series of international promotional activities to attract buyers from other countries, especially emerging. In this regard, I would like to highlight the Construmat interest among practitioners of Brazil and the countries of North Africa. Without forgetting, the actions that we have developed in the countries of our nearest geographic environment and Latin America. I sincerely believe that the effort we have undertaken will have a very good result for exhibitors at Construmat. And that, at the moment, bet on internationalization is an alternative to bear in mind by the companies in the sector.

I would like to express my conviction that Construmat will be a great opportunity for visitors and exhibitors. We believe that we are going to meet the challenges that have been raised to us and we will be able to respond to the concerns of the Spanish construction. Some months we still have to put an end to close the show, but I can assure that we are on the right track.
