Abertis net income grows by 6.1% in 2010

The results of Abertis in 2010, closed under the IFRS criteria and considering the adjustments resulting from the sectoral interpretation of IFRS for concessional business (IFRIC 12), show growth in the key figures of the Group: revenue, Ebitda and net income. The accounts do not include the impact from the sale of the participation of 6,68% of Atlantia, made on 14 January by 626 million euros, a gain of 151 million, according to the company.
The positive evolution of the traffic in the network of motorways out of Spain, cash generation capacity, control of operating costs, contained financial costs, changes in the perimeter and the good behaviour of the contribution of companies accounted for by the equity method are some of the keys for the year 2010.
Firstly, Abertis operating income exceeds for the first time in its history the barrier of 4 billion euros and amounts to 4.106 million, a 5.2% more than in the previous year. 50% Of these revenues are generated outside of Spain, from mainly of France, Chile, and Great Britain. Of the total income, 75% is generated in the activity of highways, 13% corresponds to the sector of telecommunication infrastructures and 7% to the airports. The car parks sector contributes 4%, while logistics parks, 1%.
Gross operating (Ebitda) result reached in this period the 2.494 million euros (+ 5.9%) while the net result of exploitation (Ebit) stood at 1,519 million euros (+ 5%). For its part, the financial result for the year was - 667 million euros.
