The current situation in Aragonese livestock sector is "limit and many farms are on the brink of ruin" before the rise in food costs, and that is assuming in Aragon, on average, an additional cost to the farmer of pigs of 30 euros per animal fattened compared to last yearadded the Secretary. Faced with this situation, UPA-Aragon sees as crucial the introduction of private storage, which could be launched in less than a week and that should be "relieve pressure prices downward faced by every sector of the European Union".
On the other hand, the Union of small farmers and ranchers of Aragon still required "urgent measures" of action by the competent authorities given that there is a problem of prices which is generating a total crisis in all sectors of the livestock. "If brief performances are not taken, many farms of our autonomous community are engaged immediately to the disappearance and the cessation of activity, because today the economic ruin in them is immense," said Jose Roche.
