The Pesi explains his commitment to industrial safety in Spain in Barcelona

Antonio Moreno Ucelay, President of the Pesi, stated: "our organization requires the support of all stakeholders, including industry, Government, business associations or research entities." "To help the sector, we have to create a more secure domestic industry, ensuring the well-being of the people and the safety of property and the environment". During his speech, Moreno said that the platform is composed of more than 120 members and is open to all industry sectors, it is a fully horizontal organization.
For its part, the Secretary-General's policy of science and technology, José Francisco Marcellán, which opened the day, stressed the importance of Pesi system-science-technology - society and explained the lines which make up the National Plan of r & d also VIMarcellán claimed active companies in the Pesi, this platform is going to make a new culture of research in the 21st century.
The Director of the National Institute of health and safety at work, Ángel Rubio Ruiz, said that "the Institute will support the Pesi, in order to comply with the objectives in the field of prevention and safety and health at work". For its part, Joan Trullén Thomàs, General Secretary of industry, spoke of the importance of security for the industrial development of the National Plan of r & d and the role and objectives of the national technological platforms.
European technology platforms
Technology platforms have become a key instrument for building a European future for technological development and innovation and thus advance the achievement of the European research area. These platforms are the result of the interested parties grouping, industry, administration, business associations or research entities, among others, in a sector or specific technology, around a common vision and in order to promote the development of strategically important issues with great social relevance. The European technology platform on Industrial Safety (ETPIS) began its activity in early 2005 and since then sailing for the achievement of certain values such as safety for sustainable growth of the entire European industry, through the reduction of the number of accidents and technology support in security and innovation; security product, safety and health at work and environmental safety, including the prevention of accidents and the protection of the environment, and to facilitate and accelerate the progress in industrial, environmental, security and safety and health at workthrough a process of research and implement coordinated and integrated.
What is the Pesi?
The Spanish technological platform for Industrial Safety (Pesi), established in October 2005, is an organization firmly led by the industry that responds to-oriented principles to meet the national needs of Industrial safety. The Pesi integrates with all interested parties and responds to programmes for research and technological development, providing also its own singularities and priorities in the definition of its vision, its strategic research Agenda, its structure of management and operational deployment. The Pesi is organized and structured as a mirror of the European technology platform, which is also closely coordinated.

The Spanish technological platform for Industrial safety was created with the goal of achieving a global vision and inclusive of the national industrial security, to plan, promote and encourage the activities of research, technological development and innovation (RDI) to achieve this growththe competitiveness and sustainability needed in a certain industry.
