Madrid receives the delivery of prizes of the first contest ‘Quarry Life Award'

The past 27 November, celebrated in the Hotel Convention of Madrid the delivery of the national prize of the first edition of the contest ‘Quarry Life Award' of the
In this edition, the group Hanson Hispania, SA –HeidelbergCement, chose two mining exploitations with high value biodiverso for the development of the proposals: the gravera of Arid Sanz, situated in the Municipal Term of The Cistérniga, Valladolid, and the quarry of Ivonne, sita in the municipal term of Llinars of the Vallès, Barcelona.
13 projects presented to the contest in Spain. To first of March of this year, a national jury of experts chose the 5 better to realise the works of field from March to September and elaborate the final projects.
First place: ‘Creation of habitats for the promotion of the biodiversidad in the ecological catering of the quarry Ivonne”. Authors: Jaume Vila, Visenç Carabassa.

The Quarry Life Award, is a contest aimed at students of biology or recent graduates, as well as to researchers in the field of biodiversity, ecology or the environment. Selected candidates opted for two awards, national whose amount ranges from 1,500 to 5,000 and the international in which you can win 10,000 to 30,000 for the best project.
The international contest awards ceremony will take place in Heidelberg (Germany) on 13 December 2012.
