Air Products Supplies hydrogen to a station of repostaje in Germany

Air Products has set up a station of repostaje of hydrogen in Germany, like part of the project of the Institute Fraunhofer of Systems of Solar Power (ISE). For the first time in Germany, the initiative combines two of the most promising technologies to produce hydrogen and use it like fuel of transport. By a part, the technology of Air Products, that compresseses, stores and distributes the hydrogen to a pressesure of until 700 bar and, on the other hand, the electrolizador of the mark Hogen of Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM), manufactured by the company Proton OnSite, that takes advantage of the electricity generated by photovoltaic cells to produce hydrogen.

The station of service SmartFuel is composed by a station of compressesion, a unit of storage of average and high pressesure, and an entirely automatic column that supplies the hydrogen to a pressesure of between 350 and 700 bar. The flexibility in the pressesure of the fuel allows to the vehicles reach better ranks between repostajes. The supply of hydrogen effects in so alone three minutes, the same that if it treated of conventional petrol or vehicle diesel, thanks to the fast process of repostaje that cools the hydrogen to less than 40 °C. The mechanism employed for the supply of fuel to vehicles of hydrogen is patented by Air Products, and fulfils the protocol according to which avoids the filled and sobrecalentamiento excessive of the tank.
