The Spanish Association of Biocompanies (Asebio) considered disproportionate measures announced on 21 July the Minister of health, Social Affairs and equality, Leire Pajin, on the occasion of the meeting of the plenary of the Interterritorial Council of the national system of health. "Both the cut of 15% of the price of the innovative medicines which carry more than 10 years registered even without losing the patent as the prescription for active throughout the country against a highly innovative sector that requires high figures of investment in r & d to respond to disease that in many cases are currently incurable"explains the Association said in a statement.
Asebio also considers that the creation of a Commission composed of representatives of the autonomous communities that advise on the incorporation of new drugs to the public financing "will increase the bureaucratic processes that has to pass this industry and reduced opportunities for development to the biopharmaceutical sector".
