Asebio claims to Europe increased momentum in the authorisations of GMOs
February 24, 2011
Europe must speed up the approval process for new biotech crops, according to the Spanish Association of Biocompanies (Asebio), following the publication of data from the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA) on modified organisms genetically (OMG) in 2010.
The difference between European countries and the rest of the world increasingly is more latent, because that European farmers can only grow two GMO products, a type of maize and potatoes, while in America can access more than 30 types of maizesoybeans, cotton, rapeseed, beet, alfalfa, papaya and squash.
