FMC Foret proposed Offnox to purify the air in cities

fmc foret chemical company has developed Offnox, an agent that transforms gas NOx (oxides of nitrogen) - one of the main drivers of pollution in urban areas - into harmless substances for human health and to help clean up the pollution of the air in cities. The NOx gases generate, mainly, vehicle exhaust pipes, can be very harmful to humans and are partly responsible for climate change. According to the environmental protection agency of the European Commission, Spain is among the European countries that generates more emissions of NOx.

The development of Offnox is the result of investment in research of FMC Foret. This solution is enabled by the action of sunlight and is being developed on different media such as paintings, cement and aluminum, and installed on facades, urban furniture, etc. The main advantage of this system is that their effectiveness remains indefinitely due to their regeneration with the moisture in the air. The first available commercial application of Offnox is Bionictile, result of a shared development between FMC Foret and Ceracasa (manufacturer of special ceramics of Castellón), with the collaboration of the ITQ-UPV-CSIC (Institute of chemical technology of the Polytechnic University of Valencia) and remade consulting and environmental engineering. It consists of ceramic pieces for use in various constructive and decorative applications that have been coated with Offnox and whose design favors the fotorreacción of this component. It is an innovative solution in ceramic by design, by the materials that compose it, for ease of use on facades and for being a pollution support.
