Asia Pulp & Paper announces new politics for Forestrys of High Value of Conservation

Along the past decade, APP has developed a strategy of sustainability of big scope to preserve fundamental appearances of the lovely natural resources, the natural parks and the biodiversidad of Indonesia.
Now, in what the group calls the “following natural step in the evolution” of his strategy of sustainability, APP has recognised that goes to adopt the internationally recognised standards for Forestrys of High Value of Conservation (HCVF).
1. In what respecta APP, own grantings in Indonesia:
to) From 1 June 2012, will suspend the tala of natural forestrys while they carry out the studies HCVF complete.
b) Have had a group of experts to carry out the evaluations HCVF of agreement to to the best practical of the Network of Resources HCVF. The evaluations will base in an approach of the multiple parts interested.
c) Go to protect all the areas HCVF identified like result of the evaluations HCVF
2. Regarding APP, the independent providers of wood for pasta of APP in Indonesia:
to) Taking into account our firm commitment with HCVF, APP expects that the independent providers accept our requests to answer to the evaluations HCVF from 31 December 2014.
b) With the help of a NGO international, will request to our independent providers that adopt the assessments HCVF.
c) Will review and will go back to evaluate the agreements of supply there where do not realise the assessments HCVF.
On the future expansion of APP, Aida declared: "Like company, always are studying the market in search of opportunities. We will ensure us that ours political of natural forestrys applies to all our current operations and to any future expansion”.

Darori, general director of Forestry Protection and Natural Conservation in the Ministry of Forestrys of Indonesia, has declared: “The Government of Indonesia has done of the protection of the natural forestrys a key element of his national politics. So that this work, the private sector also has to take the initiative, further of what the law demands him strictly. I expect that other companies follow the example of APP to this respecto.”
Finally, And. W. Junardy, president of the Indonesian chapter of the Network of the World-wide Pact of the United Nations, has declared: “we Are very satisfied with the strategy adopted by APP to protect and conserve the forestrys. Like a corporation that shows very active in the breast of the World-wide Pact of the United Nations, this decision shows the commitment and the efforts of APP for putting in practice the principles of this organisation, especially in his environingingmental appearances. This commitment is important for the sustainability of the companies and of the environingingment on a long-term basis.”
